Hi Andrea!
I actually acted as a team USA member at this years Trophy Cup. As it is known, the US team as a whole was unable to go so Kim Wurzel-Lo Porto took the UIW team plus a few and we competed. I was actually dissapointed at the small crowd size for an international event. The highlight routine didn't seem to draw more attention because it was similar to a tech routine. I believe more people found the thematic routines more engaging. I am very interested to see how this next years Trophy Cup goes in China and to see the response there. I am also interested to see what they keep or add from the highlight, thematic team, thematic duet, artistic solo, and combo.
Yeah, I heard about that! Trophy Cup is such a fun meet!
I bet China will prove to have an enthusiastic audience that fills the stands at the next one. At the Beijing Olympics they filled the stadiums for every sport, every event, and even the prelimenary rounds!
That's interesting about the Highlight Routine. I thought it would more exciting because I was thinking of it as a short routine packed full of the stuff I thought audiences liked the most.
Well, I agree. It will be exciting to see what's in store event-wise at the next Trophy Cup!
