Tuan's Bio
Rob was a standout baseball player at Weston (MA) High School where he achieved Dual County League All-Star status three times, as both a shortstop and a pitcher. He started on the varsity squad from freshman to senior year and played every inning of every game (1989-1992).
During his senior year, Rob was selected to play in the prestigious Brockton Invitational for college/pro prospects. He also competed in the walk-on tryout for the 1992 USA Olympic Baseball Team in Millington, TN, where he faced several future major leaguers including Nomar Garciaparra and Doug Mirabelli.

After high school, Rob went on to Ithaca College where he played for ABCA Hall of Fame coach George Valesente. He was a three year starter at third base, shortstop and second base. In his senior season he was elected co- captain and received the James “Bucky” Freeman Award (team MVP).
During his 4 years at Ithaca, the Bombers won 100 games, (2) EAA League 1st place finishes, (3) New York Regional appearances and appeared in the 1993 & 1994 Division III World Series. Rob achieved New York NCAA Regional honors (1994) and Empire Athletic Conference honors in 1995 & 1996.

Rob played his summer college ball for the Ithaca Lakers (1994 & 1995) in the Northeast Collegiate Baseball League. In 1994, Rob was the starting third baseman for the Lakers who won the NECBL Championship.

Following college, Rob signed two professional baseball contracts. In 1996, he signed with the Richmond (IN) Roosters of the Frontier League, where he was teammates with future Red Sox first baseman Morgan Burkhardt.
In 1997, he signed with the Bangor (ME) Blue Ox of the Northeast League where he was managed by Roger LaFrancois (former Red Sox catcher and current Worcester Tornadoes assistant coach).
